CDS Thermal Desorption Systems for TD-GC-MS and Air Sampling

Product-group reference: CDS-TD-001

CDS systems for TD-GC-MS and air sampling, from individual sorbent tubes to automated sequences and continuous air monitoring. Select the configuration to match your analytes, sampling mode, humidity and throughput.

CDS Analytical Logo

Thermal desorption releases suitable organic compounds from sorbent media and transfers them to a GC system for TD-GC-MS analysis. Selection depends on analytes, sample matrix, humidity, throughput and sampling mode. A portable sampling pump collects air onto a TD tube; a tube conditioner prepares suitable tubes for use.

Systems and technical specifications

Model or device Technical overview
CDS 9300 Single-tube thermal desorber; standard Vocarb focusing trap; valve oven and transfer line up to 350 °C; sample and trap desorption up to 400 °C; 17 kg.
CDS 9305 Single-tube system with built-in mass flow controller for near-real-time sampling; heated GC transfer line; 19 kg.
CDS 9350 Dual-tube system for continuous air monitoring; low-thermal-mass Vocarb focusing trap; sample and trap desorption up to 400 °C; 21 kg.
CDS 7550 72-position thermal desorption autosampler; requires a compatible concentrator (manufacturer specifies CDS 7000E); sample desorption up to 400 °C; 23 kg.
CDS 7550S Stand-alone 72-position system with built-in Vocarb focusing trap; optional Peltier cooling to −20 °C; valve oven up to 300 °C and transfer line up to 350 °C; 23 kg.
CDS 7550S Pro Stand-alone 72-position system; Peltier cooling to −20 °C; automated internal standard addition, pre-trap split and sample saver; sample and trap desorption up to 400 °C; 23 kg.
Single-channel air sampler Battery operated; manufacturer-rated runtime 20 hours at 300 mL/min; low-flow mode 0–99 mL/min, high-flow mode 100–600 mL/min; flow accuracy ±5%; 540 g.
Tube conditioners Single- or six-tube versions; maximum 400 °C; for 6 mm × 4.5 in and 1/4 in × 3.5 in tubes; other sizes require suitable adapters.

Standard equipment and options differ between models. In particular, the 7550 requires a concentrator, while the 7550S and 7550S Pro have an integrated focusing trap. Tube dimensions and sorbents must be matched to the selected configuration.

Contact info@lab-sun.de with these details. The quotation defines the model, manufacturer order references and complete supply scope.

Which TD tubes can be used?

Outside diameter, length, sorbent, instrument configuration and calibration must be compatible. Tube suitability is confirmed before ordering.

Does the standard model include all Pro features?

No. Peltier cooling and other functions depend on the model and options. Automated sample saving and pre-trap splitting are features of the Pro configuration.

Is a GC/MS included?

The GC/MS interface and complete supply scope are defined in the quotation. Images may show optional accessories.
